城市概况 CITY INFORMATION
Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou Province, located in its central area on the east of the Yungui Plateau. As one of the most important economic, business, political, educational and tourism hubs in southwest China, Guiyang is at the centre of an extensive network of roads, railways and air transport.
As early as the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC), Guiyang originally belonged to Ke Country. During the Warring States period (475-221 BC), it was subordinated to Yelang Country. The story of “The Conceit of the King of Ye Lang” originated in this region in the Han Dynasty. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, Guiyang was called Guizhou. From the Ming Dynasty on, Guizhou became the 13th province of the country, with Guiyang later named its capital.
