Step1 : Warming –up

T Shows a chant on PPT. Listen and enjoy a song .

Step2: Revision

Now let’s begin our new lesson. At first, I will ask you some questions. You must answer me

in English loudly and quickly.

Use the objects to review the words: banana, milk, knife, and ice cream

Step3: Presentation

(show a cup of banana milk shake with two labels: “香蕉奶昔”and “ banana milk shake”) Encourage Ss to read it bravely and correctly. And ask the St who would like to drink it.

Then teacher say “It’s very delicious and it’s very good for our health. But it’s very expensive. So I’ve learnt how to make it at home. Do you want to know it? Today let’s go into Unit 3 How do you make a banana milk shake?”

Step4. Looking and listening

1. Please look at the screen and listen carefully. It will show us how to make a banana milk

shake. Then you must tell me what we need while we are making it. OK?(T plays the video. Ss watch carefully. )

2. Are you clear? What do we need? Let Ss think it over and try to say them out.

3 Sums up: knife, bananas, ice cream, milk, and blender. And teaches the word: blender.

4. Ask Ss to read the words together.

Step5. Experiment and teaching

T: Do you know how to make it? I want you to make it. OK? T asks 6 Ss to make it step by step. And teaches every step in English. And write the important words down on the Bb. peel→ cut up→ put…into→ pour…into→ turn on→ turn off→ drink

T asks Ss to read every step one by one. Then practice the instructions over and over. Step6.Tasks

1Pairwork (Task 1)

Work in pairs. Practice the conversation. You have 2 minutes. Then act it out.

2. Listening (1b Task 2)

Two boys are talking about how to make a banana milk shake. But these instructions are not in the correct order. Listen carefully and put them in order.

3. Writing (1aTask 3)

(1) Now look at the pictures carefully and some words are missing. Think it over and can you put the missing words in the blanks?

(2) Read the sentences together.

4. Groupwork (Task 4)

Work in groups of six. Choose your favorite fruit to make a milk shake. You must take turns to

make every step. And while one St is making it, the other Ss must speak English. Then finish your article.

5. Report (Task 5)

One leader from your groups gives a report to the class. And invite one teacher to taste your milk shake politely.

Step7: Listening for 2a

Say we know how to make a banana milk shake. Do you want to know how to make fruit

salad? Let’s listen to Maria and Kate making fruit salad. Write the names of the ingredients under How much or How many in the chart below.

1 Listen carefully and fill in the chart, then listen again and check the answers.

2 Countable and uncountable nouns. Look at the chart and ask: Which things can we count? (bananas, watermelons, apples, oranges) / Which things can not be counted? (yogurt, honey)

1 Listen again, write the name of the ingredient next to the correct amount in the chart.

3 Look at the chart in 2a and2b , Ask and answer like this:

Work in groups of four. Each team will write a different recipe. For example, recipes for sandwiches or salad, use the words “first, next, then and finally”. Write each instruction on a separate line. Then cut up the recipe into separate lines, Another team puts the instructions in the correct order.
