Unit 7 how much are these pants?

Teaching analysis

The material I am dealing with today is unit 7 section A. The main topic of this unit is shopping. The learning objective is “asking about prices and talking about clothing and thanking someone politely”. This topic is related to our daily life,which can improve students’ communicating ability in English. In this class, I use various activities to create a English atmosphere to let them express themselves in English.I'll analyze the lesson from five parts. That are:

a.analysis of the teaching material b. analysis of students

c.Teaching aids and methods d.Teaching Procedures

e.blackboard design; f.homework.

Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material

I.Content and functions of the textbook; This class focused on teaching student to ask about prices and talking about clothing and thanking someone politely.This topic is related to our daily life, which enable students to use simple words to exchange their views and put what they learned into practice. By cooperating with their classmates, it can improve their communicating skills and speaking skills. The main content in this class is to learn the basic structure “how much is/are” “it is/they are” and the new words of color, number and clothes. II.Teaching aims A:Knowledge: a. Know the new words of clothes, color and number

b. Ask about prices and talking about clothing and thanking someone politely B:Skill:a.Speaking skill: learn to ask about the price of clothes and talk about clothing learn how to describe the shopping experience

b. Communication skill: learn to go shopping in English

C:Affect: a. let student learn to consume reasonable

b. let students know thanks someone politely

c. Improve the cooperative spirit through pair work and role playing D:Strategy aims: pre-reading, listening, writing and speaking

E:Culture aim: know the difference between dollar and RMB

III.Key point and difficulties

A:Key point a.vocabulary: new words about clothes, color and number

b.Learn the basic structure of going shopping

Part2 analysis of students

As junior grade one students, they have learned some basic communicative English. In primary school, they have learned the number from one to one hundred and some simple sentence about ask price and color. It provides a good condition to conduct the lesson. However, it isn’t mother tongue at all, it is necessary to use some pictures, games, PPT to attract their interest and get themselves involved in the class and let the class truly become student-centered. So I designed many activities to repeat the key points to let student use it freely and acquire them.

Part3Teaching aids and methods

According to students’features, I firstly use CLT method to make the class atmosphere alive. Then I use TPR to practice the new words to deepen their memory. I designed the class using pictures,PPT,games to attract their eyes. At last, I use TBLT to make student put what they learned in practice by having a survey. The combination of these teaching method can get students involved in the class and familiar with the key points in this class.

Part 4.Teaching Procedures

Step procedure:

1.warming up: lead in the main content of this class

2.vocabulary learning and practicing: in this part, students learn the new words about clothes and color. I design some activities to let them practice them.

3.singular& plural form of none

This part is the difficulties of this class, I mainly use phrases to let student know how to use singular& plural form of a none.

4.Structure learning

Learn the structure of how to buy clothes and ask the color, price and express thanks politely.I design some activities to let them be familiar with them and use it properly.

5. Go shopping (实景对话)learn to go shopping in English atmosphere

6. Pair work and role playing

Four people form a group: one is salesperson. One is cashier. The others are customers. It can practice the key structure of this unit.

7.summary:(1)grammar focus

(2) by the lesson, students can learn to consume reasonable and learn to buy clothes themselves

Part5 blackboard design

The blackboard mainly focused on the key points in this unit. All contents on the blackboard should be clear and logical. When the class is over, student can know what they learned in class today directly from the blackboard.

Part 6 homework:make a survey in your group about his or her clothes color and price. It can practice the key points in this unit when they ask their classmates about these questions. On the other hand, it can deepen their friendship and learn to observe life.
