Good afternoon, everyone. I'm。。. I'm an English teacher from No.、、、Middle School in 。。。. I'm very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is made of five parts. It includes Teaching materials and student analysis, Teaching methods, Study methods, (3) Methods

Discussion ,Cooperation and exercise 五. Teaching Aids

Multi-media computer, powerpoint, and video. They will be needed in this lesson. Part Two: Teaching methods Teaching procedures and Purpose and Blackboard design. Part One: Analysis of the Teaching material and students 一.Status and function

1.The topic is about living habits, it is helpful for students to form good living habits 2.The main activities are 1a ,1b,1d,2,3a and3b

3.How to use gerund as subject, and use “must/mustn’t” to give advice 二.Analysis of the students

Goodness: understand some words and some simple sentences and be interested in English. Weakness:lacking in listening and speaking . Methods:Audio-visual method Group work&Discussion 三. Teaching aims and demands 1. Knowledge objects

(1)Key vocabulary: tired, cause, litter, meal, without, be bad for, have a good rest (2)How to use gerund as subject

e.g:Staying up late is bad for your health. (3)How to use must/mustn’t to give advice e.g: You must have a good rest.

You mustn’t throw litter around.

2.Ability objects

(1)Master “must/mustn’t” to give advice

(2)To develop the ability of listening dialogs about forming good living habits (3)To train the ability of speaking 3.Moral objects

(1) To make the Ss realize the importance of health. (2) To teach the Ss to form good living habits. 四.Teaching key and difficult points (1)Key points:

tired, cause, litter, meal, without, be bad for, have a good rest How to use must/mustn’t to give advice e.g: You must have a good rest.

You mustn’t throw litter around.

(2) Difficult points

How to use gerund as subject

e.g:Staying up late is bad for your health.

1. Audio-visual teaching method To irritate Ss’ interest 2. Task-based teaching

To train Ss’ abilities of listening and talking 3. Group work and discussion

To train Ss’ abilities of communicating in normal times. Part Three:Study methods

①Let the Ss use”Observation-Imitation-Practice” to study language. ②Use “Discussion and Cooperation” To make Ss learn each other and relaxed.

Part Four.Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing. I'll finish this lesson in five steps. Step 1. Review (5mins)

Review some illness names of last lesson by asking questions. Purpose:1. Revision is helpful to learn the new lesson

2.To make the Ss realize the importance of health.

Step 2.Presentation (10minsSectionA-1a)

1.Show the picture of 1a and let students listen to 1a ,then let Ss answer some questions and check answers.

1. What’s wrong with Kangkang? He has a headache.

2. Did he watch a soccer game on TV last night? Yes, he did.

3. Is staying up late good for your health? No, it isn’t.

2.Let Ss listen to 1a again, follow it and imitate the pronunciation and intonation. 3. Watch the flash and finish 1b.

4.Let Ss find new words and phrases and I explain them (1).look+adj.(形容词) 看起来…e.g. look happy (2). Staying up late is bad for your health. a.动名词做主语谓语动词用单数。 b.be bad for sb/sth 对…有害 be good for sb/sth 对…有益 e.g.Running is good for your health.

c. health n. 健康 (不可数名词) healthy adj. 健康的

eg: Healthy bodies are very important for us. (3). I must have a good rest.

must+动词原形 e.g. I must go home.

Purpose: Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss'ability of listening and pictures can Ss’ interest.

Step 3. Consolidation (7mins SectionA-1d)

1. Pair work 1d: Let Ss make similar conversations after the example. Then act it out in pairs. For example:

A :I feel bad because I have a stomachache.

B: Oh, eating too much is bad for your health. You must see a doctor. Help words:terrible eat too much

Purpose: consolidate the usage of gerund as subject, and use “must/mustn’t” to give advice. Step4. Practice(13 mins SectionA-2/3a/3b) 1. Finish 2 in two steps.

2. Finish 3a and 3b: Group work &discussion Divide students into four parts, let them discuss the question then present their answers.

Purpose:To train Students’ abilities of cooperation

To consolidate the usage of gerund as subject, and use “must/mustn’t/should/shouldn’t” to give advice

Step 5.Sum up&Homework(5 mins)

Summary: 1.Learn to use gerund as subject

2.Learn the modal verbs: must/mustn’t.

Homework:1.Make a similar dialogue according to 1a。

2.List five kinds of good living habits。

Purpose:To do some extensive exercise after class to consolidate the knowledge Ss learned. 五.Blackboard design.
