Grammar Focus Where is …? ……在哪? It’s under/ on/ in… 它在……下面/上面/里面。

They’re under/ on/ in…

它们在……下面/上面/里面。
where’s 是where is 的缩写。这是 一个由特殊疑问词where引导的特 殊疑问句, 询问某物在何处。

在英语中,提问某人或某物在哪儿的句型为 “where + is / are +主语”,如果句子的主 语是可数名词的单数形式或不可数名词,用 is,如果主语是可数名词的复数形式,用are。 这类句子的答语往往是“It is / They are + 方位介词+名词或代词”。如:
--- Where is the computer? 计算机在哪儿? --- It’s on the desk. 它在桌子上。 --- Where are his keys? 他的钥匙在哪儿? --- They are on the dresser. 它们在梳妆台上。

方位介词: on, in 和 under
这三个介词都是用来指示位置关系的介词, 与后面表示地点的宾语构成介词短语,表明 两个对象的位置关系,所以我们形象地称之 为方位介词。 on的意思为 “在……的上面”,所提到的 两个对象有一定的接触面。例如:

The little monkey is on the box. 这只小猴子在箱子上。

in意为 “在??里面”,所提到的两个对 象在位置上有相对的包含关系。 The three bottles are in the box. under意为“在??下面”,所提到的两个 对象没有接触面。 The football is under the table.
