Plants need the sun, water, air and food to grow. Plants get their food from things in the ground.

Grow a plant

1. You need a carrot , a small plate or bowl and some water. 2. Cut the top of the carrot off.
3. Put it on the small plate with some water. 4. Put the plate next to the window to give it sunlight. 5. Give it some water every day.
6. Watch it to grow.
Observe the plant to grow, record the process by drawing or writing a diary.
E.g. It has got four leaves today. There’s a new shoot.
It’s 3 cm tall. It’s green. It hasn’t got enough water/sunlight.
The leaves are yellow. It has got too much water.
I think it’s dead.
