Unit 2 plays a very important role in the teaching and learning of this unit. It connects unit 1 a scientist from England and the following units together. It tells us some information about the geography and history of the United Kingdom.

They have already had a basic reading skill, however they are lacking in the background knowledge of he United Kingdom, such as history ,geography ,and culture etc. .The students don't have an awareness of using reading strategies, not to mention use them in the reading process. But they have a great interest in learning about cultural differences.

运用现代化教学手段,引导学生进行 语篇理解。在发现问题、解决问题、深化 理解中,师生信息交流畅通, 这样教师教 的活泼生动、学生学的积极主动,课堂气 氛融洽;但由于学生基础层次不齐,很难做 到面面俱到,不能很好地兼顾到所有学生, 这一方面还有待改进。 以上就是我的说课,不足之处请领 导和各位评委批评指正。
