Lesson 13 Why are plants important? 3.12 Learning aims:

1. Remember the new words: air, energy, die, heat, nothing, bamboo, kilogram, shade, carry away, make…into.

2. The important sentences:

① Trees help clean the air.

② Donuts don’t grow on the trees!

③ All plants take energy from the sun and make it into food.

④ Without food, they would have nothing to eat and they would die.

They do that in order to keep plants warm.

The examples of five structures:

1. Subject + intransitive Verb

① The sun rises.

② The spring is coming.

2. Subject + transitive Verb + Object

① I don’t like basketball.

3. Subject + Link verb. + Predicative

① Danny is tired.

② In spring, the weather becomes warmer.

4. Subject + Verb + Indirect + Direct Object

① I read her a story.

② Show me your photos.

5. Subject + Verb + Object + Complement

① I helped her brush her teeth. ② Keep them warm at night.


Project some pictures about some plants ,let them see how a seed grow into a plant . let them describe… train their ability of writing.
