5A Unit 4 Halloween

一、教学内容:单元Part A

二、教学目标:

知识目标:

1. 掌握单词Halloween, need, tomorrow, vase, mask, pumpkin, lantern, horse, change

2. 能听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语:What (else) do we need? We need …. 能力目标:

1. 能用日常交际用语进行购物的对话练习。

2. 能用句型“Do you like…?”的对话来询问别人的喜好。也能用“I like…”来表达自己的喜好。

情感目标:

1. 增强学生的日常交际能力。

2. 培养团队合作精神。

三、教学重难点:

1. 单词Halloween和词组pumpkin lantern的发音。

2. 初步了解掌握句型:What do you like? I like …. Do you like …? Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.

3. 万圣节前夕的背景知识。

四、教学过程

Step1. Free talk

T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you.

T: What date is it today?

T: Yes, now is October. In October there are lots of festivals. Today we are going to learn a new one. We call it “Halloween”.

T: Now please read after me. ( 带读Halloween )

T: Good. Now do you know the origin about Halloween? (第一课时)

(PPT 出示知识卡)

T: Halloween is on Oct. 31st. People usually have Halloween parties on that day. For the party, people need many things. What do they need? Can you guess? 假如你知道,你可以回答 They need …, (teach: need)

T: At Halloween, what do they need?

S1: They need some flowers.

S2: They need some sweets.

T: Good. Now we know they need some flowers and some sweets. what else do they need? Here, “else” is a new word. It means “别的,其他的”. Now, please read after me.

T: Let me tell you. They need some pumpkin lanterns, and masks. Now, please read these two new words after me.

Step2. Presentation

1. T: Well done, boys and girls. Now we know that at Halloween people need pumpkin lanterns and masks for the Halloween party too. Today, our friend Ben and his family are going to have a Halloween party. Let’s go and have a look. (PPT 出示课文图片1和前言)

T: The first question, what is the date in the picture?

T: Yes, it’s October the 30th. Tomorrow is October the 31st. It’s Halloween. Do you know what tomorrow means?

T: Yes, it means 明天。Now please read after me.

2. T: Good. Tomorrow is Halloween. what do Ben and his family want to do? T: Yes, they want to buy things for a Halloween party.

T: Good. Then for the party, what do they need?

3. Watch the cartoon.

T: OK. Now, what do they need, do you know?

T: Yes, they need some chocolate, some flowers and a vase.

Do you know vase. Look, this is a vase.

T: Good, they need some chocolate, some flowers and a vase. What else do they need?

T: Yes, they also need a pumkin lantern and some masks.

4. What masks do they like?

T: OK. Now can you tell me what masks they like?

T: Yes, they like tigers, monkeys and horses.

Good, now, let’s listen and repeat.

Step3. Consolidation

T: OK! Just now we went shopping with Ben and his family and they bought things for Halloween. 现在我们一起来回顾一下本节课的内容.请你根据课文,将下面的短文填写完整.(PPT出示填空短文)

四、教学过程

Step1. Review

T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you again.

T: Last lesson, we went shopping with Ben and his family. And they bought many things for their Halloween party. What did they buy?

T: Yes, they bought some chocolate, some flowers, a vase, a pumpkin lantern and some masks. Then, do you know what masks do they like?

T: Yes, they like horses, tigers and monkeys.

Step2. Presentation (第二课时)

T: We know these are all animal masks. Now please read this new word after me. Good, here animals mean “动物”。

T: Now please look at this picture. Here there are some different animals.

T: look, this is a cow.

T: What are these?

T: They are chickens. Please read after me. A chicken chickens

T: In this picture, we can see 4 chickens. And please look here, what are these? T: Yes, they are pigs. Now please read after me. A pig pigs

T: And in this picture, what else can you see?

T: Yes, we can see some ducks. Now please read after me. A duck ducks

Step3. Practice

T: We know cows, chickens, ducks, pigs they are all animals. Now, boys and girls, let’s see. Ben and his classmates are watching more animals in a zoo. And now they are talking about them

T: Now please read after me.

T: Look at the pictures, then talk about them with the sentences, OK?

Students work in pairs.

T: Now let’s act out the dialogues.

T: Now, Ben and his classmates are in a supermarket. They are talking about the things they like.

What can you see in the supermarket?

T: I like … very much. What do you like?

T: Look at the other pictures and talk about them like this.

Step4. Consolidation

T: Do you like pears and peaches? I like them very much. So let’s go to the supermarket to buy some. In the supermarket, there are not only fruits, but also

toys, food, drinks, and so on. So now, please try to talk about them with the sentence we learnt today.

4. Part E
